Buffalo Bill Dam Visitor Center

The Buffalo Bill Dam Visitor Center is located just 6 miles west of Cody on your way to Yellowstone National Park.  This center is open around May 1st through September where admission is free and hours of operation are 8am to 8pm 

The dam is a concrete arch-gravity dam on the Shoshone River that is named after Buffalo Bill Cody who founded the nearby town of Cody, WY.  The dam is part of the Shoshone project to irrigate the Bighorn basin.  It stands 325 feet high and built between 1905 and 1910.
